Lived from : 1326 A.H (1907) to 1397 A.H (1977)
Allamah Sayyid Muhammad Yusuf Binnori رحمه الله is among the famous ulama from our recent past who lived in the Indian subcontinent. He studied under the great Mawlana Anwar Shah Kashmiri رحمه الله, Mawlana Shabbir Ahmed Uthmani رحمه الله and other great learned scholars. He was known for his intelligence, in-depth knowledge and courage to always stand for Haq (truth).
Dr Habibullah Mukhtar Shahid رحمه الله describing his piety says that Despite weakness, old age and severe knee pains, Mawlana Yusuf رحمه الله would exert himself so much that even the young used to envy him.
Be it whilst on a journey or at home, during illness or when enjoying health, every day two hours before Fajr, Mawlana would stand before Allah Ta’ala to offer the night prayer and would spend much time crying for deen and the ummah and in reciting the noble Quran in a melodious tone with deep feelings.
No matter how sick Mawlana was, it was impossible that Mawlana would miss his Tahajjud prayer or pray any less than his usual or even let any difference come in his communion with Allah Ta’ala.
