Let us look at a few reasons to read these verses:

Benefit 1: Two lights for this Ummah

It is verses of light which will bring many blessings into one’s life.

An angel which had never descended on this earth was sent by Allah Ta’ala.

The angel greeted our beloved Nabi ﷺ with Salam and then said: “Rejoice in two lights you have been given, which were not given to any prophet before you: the opening of the Book, Surat al-Fatihah, and the last verses of Surat al-Baqarah.

You will never recite a letter from them but that you will be given.”

(Muslim)

Benefit 2: Intelligence demands we read it

The final verses hold so much good, that any person of intelligence will not fail to read them before going to sleep.

Sayyiduna Ali رضي الله عنه has said,

“I have not seen anyone of intelligence go to sleep until he had recited these three verses at the end of Surat al-Baqarah.”

(Sunan al-Darimi)

Benefit 3: These verses are enough for us

When we read these verses then we have nothing more to worry about as they will suffice for us and all our needs Insha’allah.

Our beloved Nabi ﷺ, said, “Whoever recites the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah in the night, it is enough for him.”

(Bukhari)

How to truly benefit from these verses:
