The Muslims First Qibla?

❓ Did you know the Qibla was originally towards Masjid Al Aqsa in the year 2AH. It remained for approximately 16-17 months thereafter the Qibla direction was changed towards Makkah.

Sunnah of the Week

To meet people with a smiling face. This is also a form of sadaqah (charity) and is very rewarding.

You never know what difference a smile can make to someone having a bad day. So smile and make others happy and above all make Allah happy!

Dua of the Week

Whenever we look in the mirror and admire ourselves, be it the new clothes we are wearing or just the beauty Allah has granted us we should make the following beautiful dua:

ْاَللَّهُمَّ حَسَّنْتَ خَلْقِي, فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِی

By reading this dua insha’allah Allah will preserve and increase us in beauty. But more importantly Allah will give us something else.. Any guesses?
Yes, beautiful character. Because what we see in the mirror is ever changing. As we get older our beauty will get old too. But the beauty inside, of good character, kindness, humbleness, love, affection, generosity etc will not age.

So let’s make this dua every time we look in the mirror inshaallah.

Transliteration:

Allahumma hassanta khalqi fahassin khuluqi

Translation:

“O Allah, You have beautified my body, so beautify my character”.

Virtues of Reading durood (Hadeeth 3)

Hadhrat Abdullaah ibn Masood (radhiallahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Indeed, those closest to me on the Day of Qiyaamah will be those who sent durood upon me the most.” In a hadīth of Hadhrat Anas (radhiallahu anhu), it is narrated that at every stage on the Day of Qiyaamah, the closest person to Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wassalam) shall be that person who sends the most durood upon him. It has also been narrated that Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi Wassalam) said, “Send durood upon me abundantly, for you shall first be questioned regarding me in the grave.” In another hadīth, it is narrated, “Sending durood upon me shall be a source of light on the Day of Qiyaamah for the darkness of the Bridge. Whoever wishes his deeds to be weighed in a very large scale should abundantly send durood upon me.”

Explanation

Hadhrat Umar narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wassalam) said, “Beautify your gatherings with durood, for sending durood upon me shall be a light for you on the Day of Qiyaamah.” Allaama Sakhaawī (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that sending in abundance means at least three hundred times daily. Maulana Rashīd Ahmad Gangohī (may Allah have mercy on him) would also instruct his students to send durood at least three hundred times daily. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wassalam) said, “Whoever sends durood upon me in a book (i.e. in writing), the angels shall continue sending blessings upon him as long as my name remains in this book.”Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wassalam) said, “The person who sends one hundred durood upon me daily, one hundred of his needs shall be fulfilled; thirty in this world and the rest in the Hereafter.”
