Daily Lesson 60

Once again Allah Ta’aala has given us Friday, which we know as Jumu’ah. This is the best day of the week, so it’s only right that we do the best actions we can on this day. Let us look at a few actions we can do on Jumu’ah.

Durood

We have learnt in past lessons that extra durood/salat and salam should be read on Friday.

Aim for 300 daily and 500 to 1000 every Friday

Use our durood counter chart to keep track of all your durood on Friday and every day:

Surah Kahf

Surah Kahf has a very special connection to Friday and many vitues have been mentioned for its recitation on Friday. Read our previous lessons in which we have discussed some virtues of reading Surah Kahf.

A Look back at the amazing features. Appearance, characteristics, habits, and personality of our most amazing nabi ﷺ, to help us understand how special he was.

Jibreel Alayhis Salam has said:

قَلَّبْتُ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ ، وَمَغَارِبَهَا فَلَمْ أَرَ رَجُلًا أَفْضَلَ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

“I searched the east and the west, I left no stone unturned, but I did not find anyone like our beloved Rasul ﷺ.”

His beautiful eyes and blessed vision

Listen to “His beautiful eyes and blessed vision” by Mawlana Junayd Makda Sahib

Jabir رضي الله عنه says the white portion of our beloved Nabi ﷺ ‘s beautiful eyes were streaked with red lines. (Muslim)

Umar رضي الله عنه says that the pupils (the round area within the eyes) were intensely black. (Sirat ibn Asakir)

Both Ali and Umar رضي الله عنهما whilst describing the blessed eyes of our beloved Nabi ﷺ say that he had lovely large eyes. (Sirat ibn Asakir)

Jabir رضي الله عنه has also mentioned that the natural feature of our beloved Nabi ﷺ’s blessed eyes was like that of a person who has applied surma or kohl to their eyes. (Tirmidhi)

There are 2 narrations about the blessed eyesight of our beloved Nabi ﷺ:

1) Once our beloved Nabi ﷺ was leading salah. Anas رضي الله عنه narrates that after the salah finished, Rasulullah ﷺ turned around facing the companions in the masjid and said to the people, “O people. I am your imam. Do not move ahead of me in ruku, sajdah, standing up or leaving. Indeed, I see in front of me and I see behind me.” (Muslim)

SubhanAllah! This was a special quality and miracle of our amazing Nabi ﷺ. That just like he could easily see what was in front of him, he could see what was behind him! How amazing, SubhanAllah.

2) Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas رضي الله عنهما says that the blessed vision of our beloved Nabi ﷺ was the same whether day or night!

This too is amazing! During daylight, we can all see very comfortably, but in the dark, we cannot see properly without the aid of a light or lamp. But our beloved Nabi ﷺ was able to see clearly during both day and night! (Bayhaqi)

These amazing narrations clearly describe the beautiful eyes and blessed vision of our beloved Nabi ﷺ.

May Allah Ta’aala fill our hearts with the love of our beloved Nabi ﷺ and enable us to emulate Him in every aspect of our life.

يَارَبِّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِماً اَبَداً عَلٰى حَبِيْبِكَ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ كُلِّهِمِ

Blessings in food

Look at how amazing our beloved Nabi ﷺ was!!

Hadhrat Anas رضي الله عنه reports that when Rasulullaah ﷺ married Hadhrat Zaynab bint Jahsh رضي الله عنها , Hadhrat Ummu Sulaym رضي الله عنها sent Hadhrat Anas رضي الله عنه with some food to Rasulullaah ﷺ.

She also sent him with a message to convey salaams and to say that this little food is for Rasulullaah ﷺ. When our beloved Nabi ﷺ received the food, he placed it in a corner of the room and sent Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه to invite the Sahabah رضي الله عنهم for a meal.

This occurred during a time of difficulty and three hundred Sahabah turned up for the meal.

Our beloved Nabi ﷺ called them in to eat in groups of ten until they were all filled. When Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه looked into the dish after all had eaten, he noted that there was as much food leftover as there had been when the food was sent. (Al Bidaayah wan Nihaayah Vol.4 Pg.135)
