DESCENT, RULE AND DEATH

Every Muslim believes in Qiyāmah when the entire world will come to an end. Rasulullāh has told us about many major signs of Qiyāmah which are all true.

From amongst them, one sign is the descent of Sayyidunā 'Īsā عليه السلام from the Heavens. Sayyidunā Mahdi At the time of the descent of Sayyidunā 'Isa عليه السلام, the leader of the Muslims will be Sayyidunā Mahdi, who will be a descendant of Sayyidah Fātimah رضي الله عنها, the beloved daughter of Rasulullah ﷺ.

Sayyiduna Mahdi will be born in Madīnah Munawwarah. His name will be Muhammad and his title will be Mahdi. His father's name will be Abdullāh and mother's name will be Aminah. He will go into battle against the enemy. After heavy fighting he will liberate Damascus and Constantinople (Istanbul). He will establish rule with complete justice.

Sayyidunā Mahdi will then go to Syria. A few days after his arrival, Dajjal (the Antichrist) will appear in the area between Syria and Iraq. He will see with only one eye. His right eye will have no sight and will stick out like a grape. The letters ک ف ر (kāf, fa, ra) will be on his forehead. Every believer will be able to read them and recognise that he is a disbeliever.

He will claim to be a prophet and then declare himself to be god. His coming will be a test for mankind. He will show people false miracles like bringing the dead back to life, causing the rain to fall and making fruits and crops grow from dry land. He will travel to many countries where people will join him in large numbers.

He will also travel to Makkah and Madinah but will not be able to enter as the angels will be guarding both places. He will then go towards Damascus with his followers.

He will gather his army outside Damascus. Sayyidunā Mahdi will also arrange his army.

After arranging his army, Sayyidunā Mahdi will go to the Jāmi' Masjid for Fajr Salāh. At that time Sayyidunā 'Isa عليه السلام will descend from the Heavens on the Eastern minaret of the Jāmi Masjid in Damascus, Syria.

He will be supported by two angels with his hands resting on their shoulders. From the minaret he will come down by a ladder. Sayyidunā Mahdi will request Sayyidunā 'Isa عليه السلام to lead the salāh. Sayyidunā 'Isa عليه السلام will insist that Sayyidunā Mahdi should lead, as he is the leader of the believers.

After the salāh, Sayyidunā Mahdi will lead the army to the battlefield and Sayyidunā "īsā will advance to kill Dajjāl. On seeing Sayyidunā 'Isa عليه السلام Dajjāl will try to escape.

However, Sayyidunā 'Isa عليه السلام, will go after him and kill him. Dajjāl's army will be defeated and the evil and corruption of Dajjāl will come to an end.

Through the Grace of Allāh Ta'ala, all people on earth will happily become believers and live in peace and harmony. After some time, Sayyidunā Mahdi will pass away and Sayyidunā 'Isa عليه السلام will become the leader of the believers.

Two Pious Saints and their Value of time

Shaykh Salim Ar-Razi رحمه الله, is a pious saint from the 5th century and Hafiz Ibn Hajar Asqalani رحمه الله, is best known for his commentary of Sahih Al Bukhari.

Both of these men had something very unique in common:

They were both so particular about using every second of their time, that when their wooden pens would become blunt and required sharpening, they would engage in zikr while also sharpening their pens.

This was the value they had for time in their lives.
