Abu Bakr’s رضي الله عنه Love for our beloved Nabi ﷺ

Abu Bakr’s رضي الله عنه love for our beloved Nabi ﷺ is one to study and admire.

One example of this amazing love was on the occasion of hijrah.

The Quraish of Makkah had made a plot to murder our beloved Nabi ﷺ. Allah commanded our beloved Nabi ﷺ to leave at night, under the cover of darkness.

Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه was chosen as our beloved Nabi ﷺ’s trusted companion to undertake this very dangerous journey from Makkah to Madeenah.

A short distance away was a cave called Thawr. Both decided to take rest here and also hide here.

Upon reaching the cave, Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه was first to enter the cave, to be sure that it was safe. He closed any holes he could see with pieces torn off from his own clothes. He then cleaned it and once it was ready he asked our beloved Nabi ﷺ to enter.

After entering, our beloved Nabi ﷺ immediately laid down, resting his head in Abu Bakr’s رضي الله عنه lap and fell asleep.

Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه stayed awake to be sure our beloved Nabi ﷺ was safe when suddenly a poisonous insect stung his foot. The pain was unbearable but if he moved it would wake our beloved Nabi ﷺ.

So, he bravely took the sting and did not move to allow our beloved Nabi ﷺ to continue resting!

Moral:

From this incident we learn how much Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه loved our beloved Nabi ﷺ. This is love beyond any limits.

He was happy to take the pain of an insect sting but could not allow our beloved Nabi ﷺ to be disturbed.
