Daily Lesson 166

Virtue 1

Masjid Al-Aqsa, also known as Baitul Maqdis was the second Masjid to be built on earth.

Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه reports: “I said: ‘Messenger of Allah, ﷺ which mosque was set up first on the earth?’ He said: ‘Al-Masjid al-Haram (Makkah).’ I (again) said: ‘Then which next?’ He said: ‘It was the Masjid Al Aqsa.’ …” (Muslim)

This means that when Adam عليه السلام was sent from the heavens to the earth, he was first instructed to build the Kabah for the worship of Allah Ta’ala. Forty years later masjid Al Aqsa was built. Ever since then these two sites have been sacred and been places of worship!

Subhanallah!

Look at how amazing our beloved Nabi ﷺ was!!

A Childhood Miracle

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه reports an amazing incident from the childhood of our beloved Nabi ﷺ:

He says, Jibreel عليه السلام once came to our beloved Nabi ﷺ while he was out playing with his friends.

He laid our beloved Nabi ﷺ down on the ground and tore open his chest. He then took out his blessed heart and extracted a blood clot from it. Jibreel عليه السلام said to our beloved Nabi ﷺ, “This was the measure of Shaytan inside you.”

Jibreel عليه السلام then washed our beloved Nabi ﷺ’s heart with Zamzam water in a golden vessel and after placing it back in his chest joined his blessed chest together. The boys who were playing with our beloved Nabi ﷺ came running to his mother saying, “Muhammad ﷺ has been killed!”

They rushed out to find if our beloved Nabi ﷺ was alive but his colour had changed.

Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه says, “I myself saw the marks of the needle on his chest.”
